Paris! Part 3 (final) of Spring Break

We arrived late in Paris and jumped on the Metro at 11 pm. We had heard all about how the French people weren’t very nice and often acted like snobs but everyone we met was very helpful! The woman on the metro directed us on where to go after we had been standing looking around lost for a few minutes. Once we made it to our hostel, which was about an hour away from the train station we crashed for the night.

The next morning we decided to go to the Louvre. First though we stopped at Starbucks to get coffee and breakfast for Gianna and I since the free breakfast at the hostel consisted of… bread.

The Louvre was beautiful! And we of course took all the cheesy tourists shots! I could have spent days exploring in there but we only had a couple hours so we went straight to the Mona Lisa. I took a picture then got out of the way so that the other people could get to the front so I didn’t get to look at her for long but it was fun to see her in person!

After we wandered through some Roman art and items and then moved on to Egyptian art.

Finally we headed out to go see the Eiffel tower in the daylight. And of course we took all the cheesy photos here too!

Finally, with all of us starving we headed to lunch. All of the waiters were very friendly and made the experience that much more memorable.

After lunch we went to get macaroons from the famous place, Laduree. The line was out the door but we waited and it was worth it! We saw the arch and then headed back to the Eiffel tower to see it in the dark.

On the way we picked up some strawberries and Champagne so we could picnic underneath the tower. We ended up having perfect timing and got to watch the lights come on right as we sat down. It was the perfect ending to the day!

The next morning we got up and took the Metro to Notre Dame. Since we couldn’t leave our luggage in the hostel we had to lug it around for the day. I am so glad that I had David’s backpacking backpack! It made my life so much easier. We wandered around Notre Dame then headed to the Lock Bridge and looked at all the old locks representing peoples love stories.

We stopped along the river and decided to pull out our map to see where the airport we were flying out of was. We couldn’t find it but then a nice French lady came up and asked if we needed help. She looked up directions on her phone and then told us it was an hour away by bus. We were so thankful for her help because we hadn’t known that it was so far away! When we thanked her she said that she was just trying to change the impression that people have of the French.

We decided to grab a quick lunch and then we headed to the bus station and to the airport. I can’t wait to go back and see this city again!

I’ve spent the past few days slowly recovering from the cold I got during Spring Break and tomorrow I head to the Amalfi Coast!
